His Light Overwhelms Our Isolation

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.” (Isaiah 43:2 ESV)

The storms of life crashing down all around me. Death everywhere I look. Isolation ravaging hearts from the inside out. Craving relationships of old. Why can’t we go back to the way it use to be?

Holding on as the boat rocks back and forth, back and forth. Sick to my stomach with the constant change and uncertainty. O Lord, bring stability in the chaos. Deliver on Your promise to not let me be overwhelmed. Don’t allow panic to consume me.

Your Light bursts through the darkness. Hope floods in where doubt once ruled the day. Stretch me O Lord, but please don’t break me. Mold and shape me O Lord, but please be gentle. New life springs forth - Grow your daffodils on my barren soul.
